Gus is a beautiful registered QH in his early 20′s coming to us after he could no longer keep up with the demands as a lesson horse due to arthritis. He had a career as a show horse with years of jumping that took it’s toll on his legs. Gus is a bigger boy who loves special attention and he would be best with only light, occasional riding by a smaller person on flat terrain or in the arena for he needs a relaxing retirement with few physical demands. He exhibits nervousness when taken out of the pasture alone and is a bit pushy at times but responds well with a confident handler. He loves having a buddy to protect and has always been the dominant horse in his pasture. He gets a small amount of Thrive daily, free choice hay and supplements which will need to be continued to maintain optimal comfort. Gus’s large, kind eyes will melt you in a minute and he knows how to give “kisses”.
