Chili’s Night Fundraising Event May 10th from 4-10
Please, if at all possible let Chili’s do the cooking for you and come on out for dinner at Chilis on Tues May 10th and they’ll make a donation to the rescue. Shooting Star has many expenses right now with spring shots at over $ 500, ongoing farrier and Thrive feed. This could help us so much in being able to pay some of those expenses. We REALLY need this support and would be so appreciative of your support through your choosing to eat at Chilis for this event.
All it takes is copying and printing off the coupon below and presenting it at Chilis on Tues the 10th and they will apply 10 % of your total meal toward a donation for the rescue. ( You may also e-mail careenc@msn.com to have a flyer/coupon sent directly to your e-mail)
If you could forward this on to everyone you know, and post to facebook or pass on to co-workers, we might be able to really get the word out. And remember, the coupon must be presented for the donation.

Rescue T-shirts and Ball caps
New arrivals~ Our new Shooting Star logo is now available on high quality cotton T-shirts and ball caps which helps to support the medical needs of our horses. Each shirt or ball cap is yours for a $ 20 donation and this goes directly into our medical fund to provide necessary shots, worming, and emergency medical care. Youth to adult extra large sizes in white or cream are currently in stock. If you’d like a sweatshirt, a different color or type of shirt, please ask us as we will do what we can to make it available to you.
Duni Original Horsesplash Paintings
Duni is Careen’s personal horse and is the only “non-rescue”, so he helps support his rescue buddies by “painting” creative, one of a kind acrylic paintings on canvas by holding a paintbrush in his mouth and splashing it across the canvas. He has quite a fan club and his paintings of all sizes, shapes and colors adorn the walls of everything from living rooms to children’s bedrooms to living quarters in horse trailers. Paintings may be framed or hung directly from the canvas, depending on preference. Sizes range from 4 x 6 and up with many options for canvas styles.
Colorful greeting cards ideal for thank you’s or special occasions are also available. Many framed and unframed originals are available as well as custom orders with your choice of colors and canvas are welcome. We encourage you to visit the rescue and have Duni create a special piece of artwork just for you or for that someone special. A unique gift sure to become a conversation piece in any household. A certificate of authenticity with a stamp of Duni’s hoof print along with pictures of him completing the painting is provided.
Horseshoes with Heart
Horseshoes are carefully designed with a variety of stones, beads, horsehair, wirewrapping and charms which represent “good luck” and also bring good luck to the sanctuary horse whose needs they help support. For a donation of only $ 25 you receive your chosen horseshoe with a picture and history of the special needs sanctuary horse residing at the rescue whom benefits by your donation.

Horsehair Jewelry and Equine Accessories
Featuring high-quality handmade items and western-themed jewelry for the horselover in you or someone you know. We focus on making necklaces, earrings, pendants, bracelets and keychains, but we’re still coming up with new and exciting designs for things like bookmarks, christmas ornaments and other fun stuff.
Handcrafted items made by volunteers and SSER founder, Careen Cain. Many of our creations utilize tail hair from our rescue and sanctuary horses, donkeys and ponies. Our horsehair products include an individual story about who the hair came from, including background and history of that particular horse.
