Horsehair Jewelry and Equine Accessories
Featuring high-quality handmade items and western-themed jewelry for the horselover in you or someone you know. We focus on making necklaces, earrings, pendants, bracelets and keychains, but we’re still coming up with new and exciting designs for things like bookmarks, christmas ornaments and other fun stuff.
Handcrafted items made by volunteers and SSSER founder, Careen Cain. Many of our creations utilize tail hair from our rescue and sanctuary horses, donkeys and ponies. Our horsehair products include an individual story about who the hair came from, including background and history of that particular horse.

For My Twisted Tale
My name is Heather, and I have been volunteering at Shooting Star since February 2009. I average about 30 hours a week cleaning stalls, working on basic ground manners with several of the rescue residents, assisting with repairs and basic duties around the barn and pasture, and have recently started making jewelry and crafts from Shooting Star horsehair (and one donkey, Ruby) to help with expenses like hay, grain, vet bills, farrier costs, etc. 100% of my sales profit goes to Shooting Star. I take custom orders and can use your horse’s hair as well. Thread color is up to you, too!
Rescue Rags are hand-crocheted, measure approximately 6″x6″ and feature Gus on the card!
